About
The Student Support Program aims to provide opportunities for students to increase ability and/or confidence with individual language skills. Student Support Plans are available that focus on the four language skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening) as well as content in each of the Academic English courses. The duration of most plans is 4 weeks in order to avoid conflicts with exam periods. In brief, the plans are as follows:
Plan 0: Skills in need of attention are indicated by the teacher on this plan.
Plan 1: General listening skill work ideal for new students experiencing difficulty with classroom English.
Plan 2: Improve speaking skills through student activities such as English Corner, Chatterbox and others.
Plan 3: A hybrid of Plans 1 & 2 which can improve interaction skills.
Plan 4: Listenings skills more focused on AE3B course content.
Plan 5: Multi-skill content useful for the AE4A course.
Plan 6: A hybrid plan combining AE4A listening content and general speaking skills.
Plan 7: Both reading and writing are targetted in this plan.
Plan 8: Similar to Plan 2, but students access and utilise materials without a scheduled Chatterbox.
Plan 9: A listening and speaking combination with relevance to course content (AE4B).
Plan 10: Focuses on both listening and reading skills using AE4B content.
*** All plans are available from your teacher on request or from the Independent Learning Centre.
